Pledge Report 3

It’s truly a humbling experience to receive the number of miles people pledge.  I know the effort it takes to jump on your bike and roll down the road.  To have those miles pledged toward our goal to raise awareness to the Infant Mortality Rate is not taken lightly.  For this past week we had a total of 480.78 miles in pledges.  Some of the miles came via walking, road, mountain, and carriage.  It’s an amazing number…thanks to everyone who contributed.

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Binion - 248 miles

Darryl - 22 miles

Sheila Wilson – 83 miles

Maggie – 20 miles

David Bender – 47.28 miles

Momma V – 10 miles

Baby Sis (Rockie) – .5 miles

Me & Shiloh – 50 miles

Training Ride a231

If I could get a Ferrari and travel back in time to find the guy who coined the phrase “no pain, no gain”, I’d apply a strip of duct tape across his mouth and double slap him (pop-pop) for thinking about saying it.

The ride today was another day full of laughter to keep from crying.  The group was about 20 deep with a variety of skill.  It was another date with Texas Plume & the wall.  The 1st 1/2 of the ride was cool as folks behaved even though the warm-up did get up to about 24-25 mph.

The roll up the 1st climb begins the work of testing legs and of course 3-4 guys jumped out with a group of about 6 chasing them down.  That was the last I saw of the main group….this is what it looks like to get dropped:

No worries right, it’s only a training ride!  Well at least I had a very nice average on the roll back to Joe Pool Lake.
